Invented in the UK by one of the worlds leading Laser experts, Professor Marc Clement, and now used throughout the world with outstanding results, Nu-Trolysis™ Laser Hair Removal has successful clinical trials going back more than five and a half years, much longer than any other laser or light based system, and throughout this time and thousands upon thousands of treatments there has been no incidence of scarring or long-term pigmentation changes.

Nu-Trolysis™ is considered by our clientele to be much safer, far less painful, faster and more efficient than all other methods of hair removal, and probably more cost effective too.

	The red laser light passes through the top layer of skin, & penetrates deep into the dermis, to the source of the hair growth. Melanin in the hair & hair follicle selectively absorb the laser energy to impair future hair growth, while surrounding skin structures remain untouched.

How does it work?
Nu-Trolysis™ uses a process called ‘Selective Photo-thermolysis’, which in simple terms means that the light energy from the Chromos 694™ Ruby Laser is absorbed by the melanin (brown pigment) within the hair shaft, giving enough energy to disable the hair follicle but not cause any harm to the surrounding skin structure, and because the laser is using only light it does not cause the irritation that other hair removal methods may create.

The result …safe, gentle, effective and long lasting results. Unlike the "old fashioned" methods of hair removal that treat only one hair at a time, Nu-Trolysis™ treats many hairs with a single pulse of the laser, this makes larger areas like legs and backs a practical proposition.

How effective is it?
Some of the clientele at The Bridge Clinic have not shaved their underarms for nearly two years! And waxing the bikini line is something in their distant past. Nu-Trolysis™ may well be the ultimate in hair removal but it will still take multiple treatments to achieve the desired result. The main reason for this is that hair grows in three distinct phases, actively growing (Anagen) — shedding (Catagen) — and resting (Telogen). Only hair in the active growth phase is treated successfully at any one time. You then have to wait for the hairs that were in their resting phase to return to the growth phase before the next treatment.
After your Nu-Trolysis™ treatment the treated area is generally hair free for several weeks and for some parts of the body, many months. Different parts of the body have different time scales between these "phases", and ‘problem’ hair growth is as different again to what is considered ‘cosmetic’ hair growth. (This is discussed in much greater depth and relevance to your required treatment area during your initial consultation). Sadly because of the pure physics of Laser depilation, white, grey and pure blonde hair does not respond to the laser light, and because darker skin tones have high melanin content they are also unsuitable. But all is not lost; at The Bridge Clinic we have another piece of non-invasive equipment (Depigei) that can deal with these, not as fast as Nu-Trolysis™ but just as safe and effective. Many lighter Asian and other skin colours can be safely treated with Nu-Trolysis™

Does it hurt?
With Nu-Trolysis™ there is no need for anaesthesia, the sensation has been likened to a "pinprick" or at worst a mild static electric shock, but since the laser pulse lasts for less than a thousandth of a second it is something that most clients can withstand very easily, and most of our clients that have experienced electrolysis say that the sensation of Nu-Trolysis™ is about ten times less painful!

Is it safe?
The process has been used on young and old alike, from infants under two to octogenarians! And we are happy to treat any part of the anatomy, except eyelashes! The treatment process is simple and can take as little as a few minutes. The target area needs to be shaved before reatment so surface hair does not absorb the laser energy. The laser beam is then scanned over the surface of the skin and the energy is selectively absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle, and the resulting heat disables the follicle without harming the the surrounding skin.

Only hair in the active growth phase responds to laser treatment, therefore additional treatments will be necessary to disables all the hairs in the given area.

Before any treatment can proceed you need to book a consultation to check your suitability for treatment. During the consultation we will explain the treatment procedure to you, demonstrate the Laser and carry out a test patch on the area to be treated.

Due to the fact that every individual is different, we are unable to provide a definitive price list for Nu-Trolysis™

Each client is assessed individually and price is dependent on the size of the area and the hair density to be treated, therefore accurate prices can only be given at the time of consultation.
